Physical cheating is universally condemned, but financial infidelity is equally destructive. Hiding a massive credit card debt, secretly opening new accounts, or gambling away savings breaks the fundamental trust of the partnership.

If you have committed financial infidelity, immediately come clean before your spouse finds out through a bank statement. Layout a rigid, transparent plan to pay off the debts and rebuild trust.

If you are the victim, seek professional counseling to determine if the trust can be rebuilt or if the betrayal signals a deeper pathological issue.
